KAMLOOPS - Expect nightly closures on Red Bridge as a comprehensive inspection of the structure gets underway.
According to the Ministry of Transportation, routine inspections between 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. run Oct. 7 to 11, Oct. 13 to 18, and Oct. 20 to 25. Highway 5 is open as a river crossing option during the closures.
"These closures are required so crews can conduct a comprehensive inspection of the structure. The inspection is part of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure's program to continually assess the condition of the bridge and keep it in good operating condition," the ministry said in a press release.
