KELOWNA - If you're looking to sample fine beers, thrash your head to pulse-pounding metal and walk into work Monday with a brand new tattoo, the Kelowna Curling Club is the must-see spot this weekend.

Instead of hurling rocks down the ice, the curling club and the surrounding area will have people banging their heads and getting fresh ink at the 2019 Okanagan Tattoo Show and Brewfest from July 19 to 21.

It's a wall-to-wall party with 170 tattoo artists, 14 bands and more than 10 local breweries spread out over three days.

Big name tattoo artists like Brodie Leisure, Christina Christie and Dust Wu from China are some of the headliners, but the event is also a chance for artists from Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon and Kamloops to flex their creative muscles.

You can check out most artists on Instagram to see which one matches the style you'd like to get. You can also roam the grounds at the event looking for any available artists to tattoo your skin; if they're free, you can book them.

Once you've got some fresh ink, you can spend the rest of the weekend melting your eardrums courtesy of an onslaught of metal, punk, and hard rock bands. The lineup includes Bad Cop / Bad Cop, Black Wizard and New Brunwick's own The Motorleague.

Single-day passes for the event cost $30. Kids under 11 get in for free.

You can buy your tickets here.
