A mountain biker from Quebec lost her balance near Trestle 6 on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail at about 4 p.m. yesterday, July 10.

She injured both her upper and lower body so Central Okanagan Search and Rescue was called in to help.

They sent an e-bike team and stabilized the person until its UTV could arrive and transport her to an ambulance that took her to hospital, according to a search and rescue team news release.

“I’d like to thank the Myra Canyon Bike Rental first aid attendant for doing a fantastic job of stabilizing the subject," search manager Duane Tresnich said in the news release. "He did a great job, as did the subject's partner who handled communications to the rescue team."

The news release does not say how seriously she was injured.
