OSOYOOS - An Osoyoos woman is included in this year’s list of Canada’s most powerful women.

Ingrid Jarrett, general manager and vice-president of business development at Watermark Resort in Osoyoos was named to the Woman’s Executive Network’s top 100 list in the RBC Champions Award category on Nov. 22.

Jarrett’s accomplishments include more than 20 years spent building partnerships and boosting tourism in the South Okanagan and across B.C. She is a strong believer in the equal power of women and has mentored many others now in leadership positions in top corporate hotels in North America.

“I believe we all have the power to make a difference in the world, and make a difference for each other. Focussing on what is possible fuels possible change… It’s incredibly inspiring to be acknowledged among such esteemed colleagues and powerful female leaders, and celebrating the power of women in the workplace is something I’m proud to be a part of,” Jarrett says.

Jarrett has worked at many of B.C.’s top hotels, including the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, the Fairmont Palliser, Fairmont Hotel MacDonald and the Fairmont Empress.

In addition to her role at Watermark Resort, she also runs a successful consulting firm providing leadership and strategic business development to tourism and hospitality companies. She currently serves on the board of Destination: Osoyoos, is vice-chair of the Marketing Advisory Committee for Destination B.C. and is past chair of the B.C. Hotel Association.
