Children from schools around Vernon have designed coffee sleeves to show their appreciation for health-care workers.
Community Kudos Coffee Sleeve Project launched today, March 1, so staff at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital can enjoy the 3,000 coffee sleeves created by students around the community, according to a press release from Interior Health.
“Whether it's physicians showing our appreciation through the staff Kudos project, or these heart warming messages from the students, both represent a genuine desire to make explicit how valued members of the healthcare team are,” vice president of the Vernon Physician Society and the hospital’s director of clinical operations Dr. Yann Brierley said in the release.
Health-care workers can get the sleeves with any hot drink from Amplified or Cracked Pot coffee shops at the hospital.
Students from kindergarten to grade eight from 12 different schools put their artistic skills into the project which coincides with National Employee Appreciation day.
“Civility and gratitude in the workplace are a necessary platform for joy in work, and ultimately the best outcomes for patients in our care,” Brierley said.
“Thank you to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation and to the many students, teachers, principals and school district personnel who made this gift possible for the hospital staff.”
The sleeves will accompany any hot beverage sold at Vernon Jubilee Hospital while supplies last.
