A Kamloops resident has finished a time lapse video that took him an entire year to create.

Shawn Pooley is known in Kamloops for his videos showing the rising and falling of the South and North Thompson rivers as the four seasons change across the year.

Every Sunday Pooley stands in the exact same spot at a lookout in the West End and takes a ten second video of the river junction.

This video compilation is his third, and shows the river rising and overflowing the banks in June and July of last year.

Kamloops residents may recall when the beaches and some parking lots were flooded heading into the summer, and Pooley’s video shows the rivers swelling up from a broad perspective higher up at the lookout.

Along with showing the changing colours and levels of the river, the video shows the weather changing, the sounds of the city and the sounds of the birds.

Pooley is currently travelling but allowed iNFOnews to share his interesting compilation.
