Vernon health care workers are offering thanks to other hospital and frontline workers who continue to work during the pandemic.

Vernon workers can be seen spreading a positive message in an Interior Health YouTube video, published today, April 17.

"Thank you everyone for the great job you're doing, we're all in this together," said a Vernon Jubilee Hospital employee in the video.

Another thanked both the community and other healthcare workers for putting in their best efforts.

The resumption of elective surgeries in B.C. may be the first easing of lockdown restrictions that have been put in place because of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to provincial health officer Bonnie Henry.

But the resumption of elective surgeries will not happen until mid-May at the earliest and only if everyone follows the existing rules, she stressed in a press conference April 17.

“We are not in a place yet when we can start to think of taking off the restrictions we have put in place,” Henry said. “We’ve had success because we’ve been diligent and thoughtful and we’re going to continue this.”
