Looking for something different to do and still keep your distance from others while enjoying the great outdoors? Apex Mountain Resort has opened their Adventure Skating Loop.

The one kilometre ice surface is a glide through the forest in a wintery landscape. It’s also a place where you can maintain social distance.

The resort even has its own Zamboni to maintain the surface.

The skating loop is open until 11 p.m. every night. Skates are available for rent between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday through Monday, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday to Saturday. The daily cost is $4 plus GST. Rental skates and a ticket are $11 plus GST.

Apex also has a full-size hockey rink that is fully lit in the evenings. The rink is maintained and cleared daily. The resort is not taking group bookings at this time.

Apex reminds visitors to adhere to the resort’s COVID-19 guidelines, as masks are mandatory at the resort.
