iN VIDEO: Thieves steal remote control cars from Kamloops business, forget remotes

The thieves made off with about a dozen cars, some complete in package, others missing key components.

A downtown hobby shop in Kamloops was broken into by two thieves yesterday, and the whole escape was caught on video.

The owner of RC Nation on Victoria Street West in Kamloops posted on Facebook that his shop had been broken into around 6:20 a.m. yesterday, Oct. 21.

Lenn Korobanik warned the public against buying the remote control cars the thieves allegedly stole, listing what had been taken.

He posted the video surveillance footage in the hope someone would recognize the culprits.

The two men arrived in a white shuttle bus. One wore a blue hoodie with distinctive marks on the right shoulder and left sleeve.

The thieves forgot to steal the remote controls for most of the cars they stole. Others were stolen without the body shells, or missing important parts like body pins.

However, two items were stolen complete in box: a Gelande 2 Kit and a Rustler VXL 2wd.

These remote control cars cost a pretty penny, and some are even more expensive than an used car. It's not uncommon to see a $1,500 price tag on one of these bad boys.

To see a full list of the types of remote control cars stolen from RC Nation, see Korobanik's post here.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the RCMP.
