iN VIDEO: Penticton’s over-the-top ice cream shop a delicious way to beat the heat

If you haven’t stopped in at Penticton’s Cherry On Top Shake Shop you might want to add it to your summer activity list.

Known by many as Penticton’s most photogenic Insta-worthy ice cream shop, the beachfront eatery is decorated with more than 30,000 plastic cherries and serves up colossal, over-the-top cones and shakes.

Customers can make their own shakes at the milkshake bar with fun flavours like cupcake, pumpkin pie, toasted marshmallow and coffee liqueur to choose from.

The cones are called Crazy Cones because of their giant sizes and crazy looking toppings.

Another fun feature is the Instagram page for the shop where fun photographs and videos are posted of the decorative shop, the most colourful ice cream creations and the reactions from customers to the colossal treats.

Last week, a Kelowna videographer with the Instagram handle @nothingbutjason stopped by the ice cream shop for the first time and left a review and video.

“Just had the most delightful experience at @cherrypenticton in Penticton,” reads the review. “From the moment you step inside, you’re transported into a pink paradise filled with adorable cherry decorations. The vibe is absolutely perfect for snapping some cute selfies.

“But the best part of the shop? The crazy shakes! These aren't just any milkshakes; they're topped with whole cakes! We decided to go all out and tried the rainbow cake shake, and wow, it did not disappoint. The flavours were out of this world, and it was incredibly filling.”
