A Kamloops man was able to capture some video of a lynx feeding on what appears to be a deer carcass last week.

Terry Weele was in the Watching Creek area about 40 minutes northwest of Kamloops on Nov. 22 when he came across the wild cat.

In a post he shared on a local Facebook page, he said the animal was “having some ribs.”

It’s not clear what type of carcass the lynx is feeding on but Wheele guesses it may have been a deer.

Wheele followed after the animal once it was done with its meal and the lynx seemed unbothered by the company. It turned its head back a few times when it heard Wheele whistle, meow or to the sound of his footsteps.
