KAMLOOPS - A video of a bear carrying a bag of garbage through a Kamloops neighbourhood is beginning to circulate on social media.

The footage of the bear walking with the white bag in its mouth was filmed in the Juniper Ridge neighbourhood, according to the original poster.

It was just last week when the City of Kamloops temporarily closed off McArthur Island Park to the public after a family of bears was spotted wandering in the area. The same bears wandered up a tree in a North Kamloops neighbourhood while being monitored by conservation officers.

Another bear sighting last week in downtown Kamloops prompted the closure of Waterfront Park after a sow and her cub were spotted in the area.

Kamloops residents are reminded of the bear smart bylaw that is in effect from April to Nov. 30.
