The first Kamloopa Indian Days event this past weekend was a huge success, drawing so many people there was standing room only.
Professional riders from across the country put on an action packed show at the Kamloops Race Central track June 28 to 30, starting with Indian Relay races and ending with bull riding.
If you missed the inaugural event, local photographer and videographer Candice Camille made a video of the fast-paced action where the dust is kicking up, horses are galloping, fans are screaming and riders are trying to stay on.
The two-day event is a new addition to the famous Kamloopa Pow Wow that brings thousands of visitors to the tournament capital every year.

“It’s the first time I’ve seen the relays in person, it was completely wild to watch, almost chaotic,” Camille said. “You could see a variety of skill levels on the teams, it’s pretty high risk in my opinion. It was packed, there were people everywhere, it was really cool to see.”
Camille’s video includes footage of the bull riding event and some of the highlights of the 43rd annual Kamloopa Pow Wow.
