Police made a dramatic arrest of a man suspected to be involved in a violent carjacking this morning and a driver caught the entire scene on his dashcam.
RCMP officers stopped traffic in both directions today, March 7, as they descended on the vehicle with assault weapons drawn. YouTube user JRW happened to be right behind them shortly after 11 a.m.
The action actually started in Kelowna earlier this morning when a serious multi-vehicle crash on Glenmore Road and Snowsell Road turned violent. Kai Merkel of Lake Country said he was shot at and pepper-sprayed by a man who was involved in the accident before allegedly stealing another vehicle and fleeing the scene.
