Without the summertime tourists crowding the beach in Penticton, a buck had a strip of Okanagan Lake Beach all to himself this week.

The deer visited the empty beach around noon on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Reader Angela Ann shared some photos and video with iNFOnews.ca.

“Look who’s come for a visit,” she can be heard saying in her video.

This buck may not have a care in the world while taking a walk on the beach, however B.C.'s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is reminding motorists that it's rutting season, which means male deer make dumb decisions as they become more interested in the females.

As a result, the greatest number of deer-related automobile accidents in B.C. happen in November, according to the ministry. "When the rut is on, all bets are off and travellers on B.C. highways need to pay extra attention."
