Enjoy the mountains and a view of Okanagan Lake at O'Rourke Peak Cellars.

The Thompson-Okanagan boasts stunning views and an array of food, beer and wine that all types of foodies can enjoy.

We compiled some of our favourite local spots for you to try this summer to expand your palate.

Peak Cellars

Patio season is here and Peak Cellars, on Goldie Road in Lake Country, offers a delicious dry riesling that can be sipped outside with views of the surrounding vineyard and Okanagan Lake. Riesling is winemaker Stephanie Stanley`s favourite varietal to work with and they offer four different styles.

The winery is offering themed menus on the last Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in June.

Nighthawk Vineyards

Nighthawk Vineyards, known for its picturesque location overlooking Green Lake in Okanagan Falls, is offering a brand-new dinner menu this season.

Located on Green Lake Road, chef Carson Bibby loves anything to do with game meat and he recommends sampling the winery's new WILD COUNTRY pizza, featuring sous vide venison, apple and tomatillo chutney, curried cauliflower and Ruffles dust.

We recommend trying the winery's Chardonnay, or their gewurztraminer.

Spirit Ridge Resort

Spirit Ridge Resort, located in Osoyoos on Rancher Creek Road, has a grand array of food cultivated using local ingredients from the land.

Chef Murray McDonald has launched a new menu this summer at the resort’s restaurant The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry. We recommend The Ploughman Platter to share, a Charcuterie and a cheese board.

Nk'Mip Cellars is the first First Nations-owned winery in North America and their Qwam Qwmt (which translates to “achieving excellence”) reserve is a great addition to any meal.

Alchemy Brewing

If you love smoked meats, this Kamloops brewery is the place to go. Located on Victoria Street, the owners recently purchased a brand-new outdoor smoker.

As a small seven-barrel brewery, beer is tailored to guests that come through the doors. One of their best sellers, Bad Hombre, has been changed out for a Ukrainian pale lager to support humanitarian efforts for the country.

We recommend sampling their brisket, smoked chicken tacos, brisket cob salad with a smoked hard-boiled egg or try a reverse-seared smoked pork chop.

TIME Family of Wines

Founded by B.C. wine pioneer Harry McWatters, the TIME Family includes four brands: Evolve Cellars, McWatters Collection, TIME Winery and Chronos.

Named after the Greek god of time, the Chronos series includes Chardonnay, Riesling, Rosé, Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and the red blend Ouroboros.

Chronos is for wine drinkers with a more refined palate, according to winemaker Lynzee Schatz.

We recommend the Evolve 2020 Pinot Gris, a light, smooth wine that's easy on the taste buds.

Visit the winery on Martin Street in Penticton.
