Nighthawk Vineyards, known for its picturesque location overlooking Green Lake, is expanding its service this year with a brand-new dinner menu and accommodations.

This June, two luxury tent houses will be available for booking and there’s already a waitlist at the Okanagan Falls winery.

“This is going to be an amazing romantic experience for guests visiting the Okanagan, or for Okanagan residents who want to get away from the big city,” said winery co-owner Daniel Bibby.

In the last two weeks, new menu items have been added to their array of foods, as well as an expansion to dinner. Chef Carson Bibby’s latest creation, a venison pizza, features one of his favourite types of food to work with, game meat.

“Our WILD COUNTRY pizza features sous vide venison, apple and tomatillo chutney, curried cauliflower and Ruffles dust for something a little more unique,” Carson said.

“I was only allowed to have one game item on the menu,” he laughed, adding he loves game meat but wanted to include different types of foods suitable for all guests.

His favourite item on the menu is the baked brie. “Who wouldn't want a big ol’ pot of gooey cheese from the wood-fire over every day?” he said.

Guests can also sample the winery's delectable charcuterie board that's big enough to be eaten as a meal or enjoyed as a group.

New wines are also available to be sampled including the winery's popular Pinot Noir Rose, a hit in the spring and summer, and the 2020 Pinot Noir created by winemaker Dakota Bibby.

A new traditional method sparkling wine, Lux de Vinea (light of the vineyard), will also be released in the near future. For the last two years, Dakota has been patiently aging it in bottles and the labels will feature a new painting by local artist Alex Fong.

“We look forward to welcoming guests to Nighthawk Vineyards, to experience these additions to the winery.  After the past two years, we feel that there's a pent up demand to get out and enjoy everything British Columbia has to offer,” Daniel said.
