BC senior asks for $40,000 a month in support from multimillionaire spouse
I am a senior over the age of 75 and I get by on less than $20,000 for a whole year. — Myna Lee Johnstone, via iNFOnews.ca

Outrageous! — Wendy Sproule, via iNFOnews.ca

If she gets, let’s say, half of $61 million as a settlement amount which is $30.5 million, why does she need $40,000 per month as well? Twenty years ago, what was her net worth? What did she bring to the table to begin with? Twenty years later, if she gets the $8 million dollar house and $22 million in cash, I think that’s an amazing compensation for 20 years of spending $500,000 together. — Maxim-Evan Chouinard, via iNFOnews.ca
JONESIE: Just kill the problem deer, already
Regarding the woman being attacked by a deer, and the attending article. The Kamloops and Okanagan areas, as is much of the world, is home to many poor and homeless people with food scarcity issues. Solution: Rogue dear equals venison roasts and burgers in my book, and please don't whine to me about their shrinking habitat or wildfire displacement. —Becky Dawson, via iNFOnews.ca
'We treat everyone like family': Inside one of the oldest diners in Kamloops
It’s worth a long drive, especially for their fish and chips and soups. Thanks for the great meals in past years! — Robert Bishop, via iNFOnews.ca

Former Kelowna man guilty of intimidating justice system gets another break from justice system
I enjoyed the piece on the person who has avoided sentencing by not showing up. Odd indeed. I recall a similar case I studied at the Justice Institute. The person was found guilty, was AWOL at the sentencing hearing and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. Vancouver Police Department had him in custody within two days. The Vancouver Police Department officers with whom I was taking the course were delighted to offer details of the arrest. — Jonathan McCormick, via email
THOMPSON: Get ready to pick up the pieces of another Trump mess
Still wiping away the tears, but you are correct. I just hope more Canadians educated themselves before they make the same mistakes here and vote Conservative to get rid of Trudeau and end up with someone much worse. — Bonnie Derry, via iNFOnews.ca
'PRONE TO SIN': OKIB elder suing Catholic church for historic abuse
I say good for you and I am behind you 100 per cent. I am an intergenerational survivor and know what it is like to be scorned and humiliated constantly. They also said I was lazy and a drunk. My biggest regret is not learning Secwpemcstin because my parents were taught that it was not worth it. They said they wanted me to speak and write English because it was the language of business. I know now it was the residential school nuns and priests that installed that hatred of our culture, language and history. They must be held accountable. — Keith Matthew, via iNFOnews.ca

iN RESPONSE to Wednesday Nov. 20 newsletter editorial
I spend half an hour to an hour in the morning in front of a daylight lamp eating breakfast, reading, card solitaire, chatting on phone, using a computer or doing a mundane boring task that “has to be done." It wasn’t as effective when I did it later in the day. I start this any day in late November. I'm not sure when I stop in the spring, probably the end of March when the longer days start. I’m 90, it works. If I don’t do it for two days, I do know it’s been skipped. Hope this helps. — Margaret Jones, via email

Hi Marshall,
I’m emailing you in regards to your query about what other people do to get through the darker winter months. Vitamin D works so well for me. I take 4000 UI daily. I know that it works because if I forget to take it for a few days, I can feel myself slide downhill right away. Once I start taking it again, I feel better within a couple of days. Getting out into nature is very important, even just touching a tree can help ground your body and help alleviate your overall wellbeing.
Hope that helps!

Kamloops city council considering sport facility fee hikes
At the rate we're getting rate hikes, it's gonna be too expensive to live here. This is getting way out of hand, with the planned tax raises for the next year, let alone the near future. — James Penner-Power, via iNFOnews.ca
—
That is all this city council knows how to do. Raise taxes for everything and make stupid decisions such as increasing organic pick up to weekly instead of bi-weekly. Really? Does it make sense to have bi-weekly in the heat of the summer where the smell becomes obnoxious and maggots have a field day, and in the winter when garbage is completely frozen and struggles to get dumped out the bin? Just such idiocy. — Linda Wilson, via iNFOnews.ca
Vernon man found not criminally responsible for killing his mother has day release extended
So is there someway to guarantee he takes his meds? No? Then he should never be unsupervised! — Bonnie Derry, via iNFOnews.ca
Parole board 'working' to have Bernardo victims' families attend hearing in-person
There are times and crimes that really should be the exception. Where life in prison should mean life, not 25 years. This is one of them. He is not going to be rehabilitated and no one is safe from him. — Bonnie Derry, via iNFOnews.ca
The face of Kelowna's unfounded rate: 'I cried tears of fear and relief'
How awful for her to have to share her story with this insensitive pig. —Jannet Wheel, via iNFOnews.ca
