Hundreds of hectares of land in the Okanagan have been scorched by large wildfires sparked by a lightning storm in the area earlier this week.

The Good Creek fire at Okanagan Park has grown to roughly 200 hectares since last night, while the Mount Eneas wildfire south of Peachland has grown to roughly 500 hectares.

Evacuation orders and alerts were put in place for areas near Peachland last night, July 18, as the Mount Eneas fire grew out of control.

Both fires could be seen from all across the Central and South Okanagan last night, and residents took to social media to share some incredible photos and video.
