Hundreds of people and their pets showed up for dog races, vendors, and family fun at the Okanagan Pet Expo in Kelowna.

The Laurel Packinghouse was filled to the brim with pet paraphernalia and competitors in the event’s highlights; the ‘Weenie Waggle’ dachshund races and the ‘Pug Dash’ pug races.

The BC SPCA, and Okanagan Humane Society were there fundraising, and there was a station where people could hold tiny chicks.

Dog owners brought their pooches to compete in the light-hearted, tiki themed, amateur dog races. The races were as adorable and chaotic as anticipated.

Someone holding a stuffed monkey on a string baited the wiener dogs around the circuit, some dogs stayed on track better than others.

The races were $20 to enter and the proceeds went to the dog rescue Paws it Forward.
