Spring is springing and with that comes spring showers in the Thompson-Okanagan region, which provide opportunities to admire rainbows.
Rainbows are created when sunlight hits water droplets and the colours appear from the longest to shortest wavelength: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet.
They are most commonly known as a symbol of hope as they often appear spreading light after a thunderstorm or when everything is seemingly at its darkest.
"I love getting pictures of rainbows off the deck and sharing the energy," said Kamloops resident Audra Mitchell who captured a double rainbow on April 7.
