December's full Cold Moon was a hard one to capture on camera in the Thompson-Okanagan region over Christmas with cloudy skies and periods of snowfall to contend with.
Several patient photographers braved the chilly nights to get photos of the moon surrounded by changing cloud formations.
Known as the Cold Moon or the Long Night Moon, the moon reaches full illumination at 4:33 p.m. today, Dec. 26. Most of these submitted photos were taken on Christmas Eve.
The Cold Moon takes the highest path along the sky and is above the horizon longer than any other moon of year, and won't be full during Christmas time for another 19 years.
Skies are forecast to be partly cloudy in Kamloops and the Okanagan overnight for anyone who still wants to take a photo.
