Kelowna’s annual Comic-Con was packed this weekend and featured extravagant costumes, local artists, and even sword fighting lessons.

Hundreds of attendees showed off their cosplay and took a look at all things comics, video games, and more at the MNP Place in Lower Mission.

Daniel Sims is a collector who was rifling through bins filled with $1 comics. He said sifting through discount bins at conventions is an affordable way to get into collecting comics, but it’s easier to find specific comics online.

“The dealer is basically putting in the comics that they just want to move today, so it’s fun to grab some for cheap and see if you want to collect. If there's a specific comic that you're looking for the chances are they won't be in the dollar bin,” Sims said.

Sims said he has been collecting comics for years.

“My first comics would be 'Richie Rich' from when I was a kid,” he said. “I have a few thousand. . .collecting is a lot of fun, I think people should do it.”

For those who weren’t able to come down to the event, iNFOnews.ca has some photos of the fun.
