Kelowna was filled with top-notch cars on Aug. 4.

KELOWNA - Brad Jinjoe is passionate about sports cars.

He's had his red Lamborghini Diablo for a year and he was excited to drive it down to Penticton on Aug. 4. But more than his excitement for driving, he was excited to use his hobby for a good cause.

"It's nice to share that passion and do something good at the same time and give something back," he said.

Jinjoe was one of the hundreds of drivers at the fourth annual Okanagan Dream Rally on Aug. 4. Jinjoe and his fellow drivers gave more than 200 lucky kids rides from downtown Kelowna to Penticton in their luxury vehicles.

"It's great to be involved," Jinjoe said.

The Dream Rally has raised more than $1.6 million for children's charity in its four year history. This year alone they raised $800,000, all of which will go to the Ronald McDonald House B.C./Yukon.

MP Stephen Fuhr spoke at the event, encouraging the kids to have a good time.

"This day is for the copilots," he said.

Jets streaked over Kelowna as the cars took off from the starting line in downtown Kelowna at 10:30 a.m. They wound down Highway 97 with a police escort and they were expected to arrived in Penticton at 11:30 a.m. They plan to set out for Kelowna at 1:30 p.m.
