Some photographers in Kamloops and the Okanagan have been busy this spring and summer snapping up-close photos of a wide variety of insects, and some of the tiny creatures are a bit more unusual looking than others.
The praying mantis always draws interest with its long body, large eyes and triangular head that swivels, and they are masters of camouflage so tricky to spot.
The golden crab spider isn't uncommon in the region but it is hard to see and has the ability to change its colour to match the flower it sits on as it lures insects in for the kill.

This photo collection shows interesting looking insects or insects caught doing interesting things. There is a lot going on in the tiny world of insects and a lot to observe if you look closely enough.
