Tension grows, the whistle blows and the puck goes down the ice as the WHL season gets going. Here are some stats for your favourite local teams. A tough start for the Penticton Vees in their new rivalry with the Kelowna Rockets, and Kamloops Blazers leading the Western Conference.
Here are the numbers:
5,307: People showed up to see the Penticton Vees take on the Kelowna Rockets in the Vees first WHL season game.
5: Goals scored by the Rockets eked out a victory against Penticton on Sep. 26.
2: Games between the Rockets and the Vees, and two wins for Kelowna. Sorry, Vees.
