Identity of Vernon man killed while working at automotive shop released

VERNON - The B.C. Coroners Service has released the name of a Vernon man who died in a workplace accident last week.

He was Christopher Marcel Emile Potvin, 32, of Vernon, according to a media release from the B.C. Coroners Service.

Potvin was working on a pickup truck in an automotive shop in Vernon around 11:45 a.m. on Dec. 9 when something went wrong and he became trapped between the truck and the hoist ramps, the release states.

Potvin suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The coroner, along with police and WorkSafe B.C., continues to investigate the death.

Potvin’s family has been notified of his death.
