After cancelling all road tests in March through to June due to COVID-19, ICBC is moving forward in its phased approach to resume testing.

ICBC announced earlier this month it would begin rebooking tests for all those scheduled between March 17 and March 30, beginning July 20.

Now, it is prioritizing customers whose Class 5 or 7 road tests were cancelled between March 17 and June 26, ICBC said in a press release.

Customers will be contacted by ICBC and told when and how they can book their own road test online.

Those who booked tests between March 31 and April 30 will be contacted prior to and rescheduled following July 30.

Tests that were cancelled in May will be contacted prior to and rescheduled following August 10.

Tests cancelled between June 1 and 26 will be contacted prior to rescheduled following August 17.

All other customers will be contacted prior to August 24 and able to book tests for dates following.

ICBC is exploring options to address the road test backlog such as expanding hours and days of operation, hiring and training more driver examiners and repurposing other facilities to include road test services.
