The RCMP's homicide unit is investigating and working to identify human remains found recently in Hope.
On March 29, at 10 a.m. officers responded to a report of human remains recovered in the area south of Silver Creek in Hope, according to the RCMP in a press release.
The circumstances were deemed suspicious and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has started an investigation.
The investigation unit is working with the Upper Fraser Valley RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the B.C. Coroners Service to gather evidence.
Currently, the priority is to identify the human remains and notify the next of kin, RCMP said.
Police will not release further information at this time.
