House party stabbing suspects turn themselves into Kamloops police

Two people are facing charges in connection to a serious stabbing at a 2021 house party in Kamloops.

A man with multiple stab wounds showed up at the Kamloops RCMP detachment on Battle Street early in the morning, June 27, 2021, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Sept. 15.

The victim, who was seriously injured, told police at the time he had been stabbed at a nearby house party in the 600 block of St. Paul Street.

Investigators issued an appeal for witnesses in March 2022.

RCMP said the B.C. Prosecution Service approved charges and arrests warrants were issued for two suspects, Sept. 1. They turned themselves into police, Sept. 7.

Kamloops residents Rashad Dario Higgs, 21, and Destyn Tory Aird, 21, have been charged with one count each of aggravated assault.

They appeared in court and were released with conditions and a court date, RCMP said.
