House fire in Westsyde shuts down traffic

Police are asking drivers to avoid Westsyde Road between Kyle Drive and Huntington Drive due to a house fire.

KAMLOOPS - A house fire has shut down a stretch of Westsyde Road in Kamloops.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a news release that a house fire between Huntington Drive and Kyle Drive has shut Westsyde Road in both directions.

Kamloops Fire Rescue is on scene dealing with the fire, Shelkie says.

There is no alternate route around the incident and police are asking people to avoid Westsyde Road in this area.
