KELOWNA - West Kelowna fire crews made quick work of a house fire in Sun Village this morning.
Neighbours saw the fire get underway shortly after 8 a.m. today, June 10, and by the time crews arrived it was already partially involved, said West Kelowna fire chief Jason Brolund.
The fire extended throughout the attic space of the home but was contained to the single unit.
" The lone occupant, who was home at the time, was alerted to the fire by the groundskeeper of the complex, through his quick actions no one was injured in this fire. There were no pets in the home and the occupant is covered by insurance," said assistant fire chief, Chad Gartrell.
"A WKFR fire investigator is on scene conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire. While currently undetermined the cause of the fire is not considered suspicious."
