KAMLOOPS – Hotel 540 in downtown Kamloops will be transformed into a Delta Hotels by Marriott by spring of 2019.
The owner of the hotel, National Hospitality Group, announced today, Jan. 19, it is entering into a franchise deal with Marriott.
Delta Hotels is a B.C. originated brand that has been established throughout the country, according to a media release from National Hospitality Group.
“Today’s announcement concludes several months of collaboration on this initiative,” Bryan Pilbeam with National Hospitality Group says in the release.
The property will undergo major renovations. All guest rooms, corridors, public areas and the lobby will be renovated. The company hasn't put a price tag on the renovations.
Pilbeam says the move will complement the company's office building project next door and advance the plans to "revitalize the 500 block of Victoria Street."
National Hospitality Group will continue to own and manage the building.
More details about the transformation to the Marriott brand will be made available in the spring, the release states.
