KAMLOOPS - Kamloops residents can look forward to a simple forecast this weekend: hot and sunny.

It's going to fell like summertime in Kamloops this weekend with temperatures more like July than May.

Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says temperature records could fall Saturday, with a forecast high of 32 Celsius. That’s in stark contrast for the normal high for Kamloops this time of year which is 21 C.

Sekhon says the high pressure ridge over the city will begin to weaken Sunday evening, bringing unsettled conditions for next week.

Today, May 10, expect sun and cloud in the morning, which should clear by noon with a high of 30 C and clear tonight with a low of 12 C.

On Saturday look for temperatures to reach as high as 32 C under sunny skies with winds becoming southwest at 20 km/h late in the afternoon. Saturday night it should cool down to a balmy 17 C.

Sunday the forecast is for more sunshine and a slightly cooler high of 28 C, with an overnight low of 14 C. There is a 60 per cent chance of showers on Sunday night.

It should start to cool down for the start of the work week with a high of 23 C under cloudy skies, and a 60 per cent chance of showers on Monday.
