PENTICTON - The South Okanagan Similkameen Hospital Foundation will be the major benefactor of a new summer event being staged out of Summerland.

The Summerland Yacht Club presents the Great Ogopogo Bathtub Race on Saturday, August 22 beginning at 9:30 p.m. in Peach Orchard Park in Summerland.

All entry and admission fees, in addition to silent auction proceeds, will be contributed to the hospital foundation including any remaining sponsorship funds.

The schedule includes two fun races following a five mile course off Orchard Park, a speed race which runs to Okanagan Lake Park in Penticton and back, and a race just for fun. Kids activities include a waterslide, Ogopogo Crawl, face painting and a paddle tub race.

A tubbers’ barbecue, along with wine and beer tents, will provide some afternoon food and drink for everyone involved.

For a complete list of activities and to register visit the event website.
