Holiday opening of the dump continues

The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen will open the Campbell Mountain landfill this Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, in an ongoing effort to reduce heavy line ups in the days following a typical long weekend.

PENTICTON - The holiday weekend trial openings of the Campbell Mountain landfill will continue this weekend.

The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen says the landfill will open for regular hours during the entire August long weekend, including the statutory holiday on Monday, August 7.

The trial long weekend openings began during the Canada Day holiday weekend in July, in an effort to reduce busy days at the landfill that normally follow a long weekend closure.

The regional district may continue to close the Campbell Mountain landfill during future statutory holidays this year.

See the regional district website for more information and updates on the extra hours.

Oliver and Okanagan Falls landfills will both be closed on Monday, Aug. 7.
