Two big holiday markets are bustling today, Dec. 2., in downtown Kelowna.
Hundreds flocked downtown for The Craft Culture Holiday Market and the Downtown Light Up and Winter Market.
The Craft Culture Holiday Market is at Prospera Place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. today and tomorrow. For $7 market goers can browse 200 local vendors selling everything from kettle corn to handmade felt holiday mice.
The Downtown Light Up and Winter Market is on Water Street in front of Stuart Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the tree lighting taking place at 5:30 p.m. The Winter Market has food, crafts, activities for kids and ice skating.

Jacquie Sharpe has been a handmade craft entrepreneur for more than 20 years. Sharpe’s business, Earth Horse Art, has a booth at the Craft Culture market this weekend. Sharpe sells her handmade leather goods and felt mice sculptures.
“It’s about the social part of it,” she said. “A lot of people who do this kind of business do a lot of work isolated at home and this is the social part.”
Sharpe says markets are an important part of business for local entrepreneurs. She says she makes 80 per cent of her revenue from going to markets like Craft Culture.
“It’s the value of handmade items, not comparing manufactured goods prices to a handmade product that could last your whole life if you’re buying leather.”
