WHL: Chiefs take 3-1 first-round series lead with 6-2 win over Giants

SPOKANE - Andrew Cristall had a hat trick as the Spokane Chiefs cruised to a 6-2 Game 4 win over the Vancouver Giants on Thursday in Western Hockey League playoff action.

Chase Harrington, with two goals, and Mathis Preston, with a goal and two assists, also scored for Spokane, which took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven first-round series.

Dawson Cowan made 21 saves.

Maxim Muranov and Cameron Schmidt replied for Vancouver. 

Burke Hood surrendered six goals on 13 shots in 27:15 of action as the starter. Brady Smith stopped all 14 shots he faced in relief.
