Charles Inglis scores twice to lead Red Deer Rebels past Kootenay Ice 3-2

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Charles Inglis scored twice as the Red Deer Rebels rallied to beat the Kootenay Ice 3-2 in Western Hockey League play Sunday.

Defenceman Kevin Pochuk also scored for the Rebels (6-7-2), while Patrik Bartosak made 30 saves in net.

Collin Shirley and Jaedon Descheneau each scored for the Ice (4-7-0), and Wyatt Hoflin stopped 28 shots.

Kootenay opened the scoring 7:43 into the first period when Shirley put a rebound from Descheneau past Bartosak for the early lead.

Descheneau made it 2-0 just over two minutes into the second with a long wrist shot that found its way to the far low corner.

But Red Deer's rally started just 1:46 later when Pochuk jumped on a loose puck in the slot and fired a slap shot past Hoflin.

Inglis tied the game in the second on the power play as the Rebels caught Kootenay on a line change. That gave Red Deer a 5-on-2 breakaway with Inglis scoring on a rebound.

Then in the third, Inglis added the decisive goal on another power-play rebound to put the Rebels ahead for good.
