Senators sign GM Bryan Murray to contract extension through 2015-16

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators hav re-signed general manager Bryan Murray to a two-year contract extension that goes through July 2016.

Murray was also named president of hockey operations.

The team also announced he will serve as an advisor for two seasons after his tenure as G-M is up.

Ottawa promoted Pierre Dorion and Randy Lee to assistant general managers.

The announcement comes in the wake of assistant GM Tim Murray, Bryan's nephew, taking the head job with the Buffalo Sabres.

Bryan Murray has been the Senators' GM since June 2007 after previously serving as coach.
