TORONTO - Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne will miss Tuesday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a lower body injury.
Predators head coach Peter Laviolette announced that Rinne was day-to-day with the injury following Tuesday's morning skate.
Rinne, who missed practice on Monday, was named the NHL's third star last week after posting a perfect 3-0-0 record with a .976 save percentage. The 34-year-old has rebounded, thus far, from an off-year last season, one that saw him post a .908 save percentage in 66 starts.
Twenty-five-year-old Marek Mazanec is expected to start in Rinne's place against the Leafs. Mazanec has made only one start this season, yielding five goals in an Oct. 15 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.
Nashville is riding a season-high three-game win streak. The Predators have picked up at least a point in six straight (4-0-2).
