Technical glitch leaves many Toronto Maple Leafs fans without playoff tickets

TORONTO - A technical glitch has left some frustrated Toronto Maple Leafs fans without playoff tickets.

Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd., and Ticketmaster Canada apologized after fans couldn't purchase tickets when a limited number were supposed to go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday on Ticketmaster.ca and MLSE.com.

The ticket links on the two websites experienced technical issues that took about a half an hour to resolve, the glitch leaving many fans believing the tickets were already sold out.

Many took to Twitter to vent their frustration.

"Glad I didn't plan my morning around getting tickets. Oh. Wait. I did. #DogAndPonyShow," one fan posted.

From another fan: "I've been hitting the refresh button for almost an hour... I hope I get tickets after all this!"

Popular humour Twitter feed @stats_canada wrote "100% of Leafs fans are having as much trouble buying Leafs tickets this year as the previous 9."

The Leafs learned about the glitch from fan feedback, posting on Twitter "We are aware of the issues with the playoff on-sale and are working to get it resolved ASAP."

The Leafs then retweeted Ticketmaster who wrote "We apologize, the error has now been corrected. Please follow emailed links to select your games."

The schedule for the opening round of the playoffs will be following the end of the regular season on Sunday.
