Flames trade centre Corban Knight to Panthers for centre Drew Shore

CALGARY - Centre Drew Shore was acquired by the Calgary Flames on Friday in a trade with the Florida Panthers in exchange for centre Corban Knight.

Shore was drafted by the Panthers in the second round (44th overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft.

This season the 23-year-old has 30 points in 35 games with Florida's American Hockey League affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage — which is good for 11th in AHL scoring. On Tuesday, the six-foot-three, 200-pound native of Littleton, Col. was also named to the roster for the AHL All-Star Classic.

Shore has played 67 career NHL games for the Panthers, recording eight goals and 12 assists. He also played for the United States in the 2014 World Championships where he recorded a goal and an assist in eight games.

Knight, meanwhile, was selected by the Flames in fifth round (135th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft.

The High River, Alta., native produced eight goals and 12 points in 22 games this season for Calgary's AHL squad, the Adirondack Flames.

The 24-year-old forward scored one goal in nine games with Calgary.
