The eastbound lanes of Highway 1 near Sicamous are closed due to a vehicle incident.

The closure is due to a semi truck blocking the lanes 15 kilometres east of Sicamous, between Malakwa Loop Road and Loftus Road, according to Drive B.C.

Drivers can take a detour on Oxbow Frontage Road but are told to expect delays and watch for traffic control.

The next update is expected at 9 a.m.

The highway will also be closed west of Revelstoke this afternoon due to avalanche control work from noon to 2 p.m. between Griffin Lake Avalanche Gate and Boulder Mountain Avalanche Gate.
