UPDATE: Highway 1 reopens after person hit by vehicle in Kamloops

Highway 1 has reopened this afternoon following an incident where a person was hit by a vehicle in Kamloops.

Police said a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on Highway 1 below the Hillside Way overpass occurred at 7:30 a.m. this morning, May 22. 

The westbound lanes of Highway 1 were closed and traffic was diverted around the accident scene onto the Hillside Way off ramp. The road has since reopened.
