KELOWNA - Get ready to rev your engines; the Okanagan Dream Rally is back in the valley this Sunday.

The annual charity event is coming to Kelowna for the fourth time as it fills the downtown area with exotic cars on Sunday, Aug. 4.

The special event allows children the chance to ride as co-pilots in sports and luxury cars as they drive to Penticton.

The charity event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the year. The group expects to cross the $1 million mark this year. All proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House B.C./Yukon.

The Dream Rally starts at 10:15 a.m. on Aug. 4 in downtown Kelowna, with the drivers taking off with their co-pilots for Penticton shortly thereafter creating a possible 15-minute delay at the intersection of Highway 97 and Abbott Street. They are expected to arrive in Penticton at 11:30 a.m. before returning to Kelowna for a private event at August Motors in the afternoon.

The stretch of Bernard Avenue from Water Street to Abbott Street will be closed from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. to accommodate the rally. Mill Street will also be closed from Bernard to the Queensway roundabout.
