The Kamloops Museum and Archives recently shared a photo to their Facebook page showing the Thompson River back in 1895.

In the Throwback Thursday photo, a group of people are pictured standing on the frozen waters of the Thompson River.

“The Thompson River might not be cold enough to skate on right now but back in 1895 skating parties were regularly held on its frozen waters,” the post says.

Even the Chief of Police at the time, Fred Kelly, is pictured in the photo.
