PENTICTON - The 2018 B.C. municipal election campaign is underway and so are Penticton’s candidate forums.

The first all-candidates forum is hosted by the Penticton Arts Council and goes tonight, Sept. 20. The Arts Rising All Candidates Forum takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Cannery Brewing in Penticton.

The forum will be moderated by Robin Robertson and organizers say seating is limited.

The Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce is hosting a candidate meet and greet on Monday, Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Days Inn Riverside Conference Centre.

Using a somewhat different forum format than usual, voters will be distributed into small groups with each candidate starting a group, engaging in discussions and then rotating to the next group.

The chamber says pre-registration is required to attend the forum and you can do so by calling 778-476-3111.

The Penticton Herald newspaper is hosting three forums next week.

A school board trustees forum is scheduled for the Penticton Lakeside Resort east ballroom on Tuesday, Sept. 25, starting at 7 p.m. On Wednesday, Sept. 26, a mayoral forum is scheduled at the same location, starting at 7 p.m., and a city council forum takes place on Thursday, Sept. 27, same place, at 7 p.m.
