Frenchies Poutinerie is giving away free poutine for a year. It's in an effort to help the restaurant bounce back on their feet after they had their food truck stolen approximately three weeks ago.

KAMLOOPS - A local poutinerie in Kamloops wants to serve one lucky customer for a whole year for free.

Starting today, Aug. 20, Frenchies Poutinerie will be offering all regular traditional poutines by donations only for a chance to win a free poutine a day for a whole year, according to a post on the restaurant's Facebook page.

"All poutines obtained by donating will come with an entry to win free poutine for a year," the post reads.

The reason behind the contest is to help the restaurant bounce back after having their food truck stolen approximately three weeks ago.

"As I'm sure you are all aware, we recently had our Frenchies Poutinerie food truck stolen from us. This was a devastating blow to the community as well as (to) Frenchies," the post says. "Not only were we not able to provide the hungry people what they wanted but we took a large financial punch that we thought we could handle on our own... we want to give back to the community again while trying to bounce back on our feet."

Head to Frenchies Poutinerie today and tomorrow located in downtown Kamloops 104-340 Victoria St. from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
