UPDATE: Body of missing Penticton senior found

PENTICTON - RCMP say Penticton missing person Kees Van Egmond has been found dead.

RCMP media spokesperson Cpl. Dave Tyreman says the man was located in a remote rural area of Osoyoos on May 10, at 3:30 p.m.

PENTICTON - A 76-year-old Penticton man was last heard from five days ago and there is concern he could be in need of immediate medical assistance.

Kees Van Egmond was last heard from on Wednesday, May 4, and family reported him missing Friday evening, May 6, RCMP say in a media release.

Friends and family say it is out of character for him to be out of touch for this long, leading them to be very concerned for his health and wellbeing. There is concern Van Egmond, a diabetic, could be in need of medical assistance.

Van Egmond is described as Caucasian, 5’9” and 137 lbs. with grey hair and blue eyes. He is believed to be with his gold-brown 2010 Jeep Patriot, B.C. plate number AA547A.

Anyone who sees Van Egmond or his vehicle is asked to call 911 immediately. If you have information on his whereabouts, you are asked to call your local police detachment of Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-8477.
